Dr. Hans Schneider

Dr. Hans Schneider (born 1929) began studying calls and calling behaviour of European anurans in 1965 first at the Zoophysiological Institute of the University of Tübingen and since 1970 at the Institute of Zoology of the University of Bonn, Germany.
A major focus of his research was the determination of the influence of ambient temperature upon the advertisement calls. Extensive physiological and morphological studies provided information about the structure of the call producing organs and the vocal system. In addition, more than 30 students made valuable contributions to the bioacoustics of anurans towards Diplom and PhD degrees.
Other coworkers joined his research group and carried out their own investigations.
